Lindsay Bing, Ph.D.

I am an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Criminology at the University of Alberta in Canada. 

I completed my postdoctoral work at Columbia University in New York and earned my Ph.D. in sociology with a specialization in demography at the University of Texas at Austin in 2022, where I also co-founded and directed the Texas Prison Education Initiative, a program offering college courses to incarcerated teens and adults.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing flag football, cheering for the Oilers, and tricking students into learning statistics.
